We Don't Need A Map - A Martu experience of the Western Desert

Exhibition incorporating Martu paintings, a video work celebrating the public phones in remote communities, aerial desert photography, finely wrought Martu objects and Fremantle Art Centre’s Pilbara Garden. The public program Martu Mob at FAC includes bush tucker cooking, carving and gallery tours with Martu artists and rangers and a film night featuring Contact. Over 40 Martu artists and bush rangers attended the event along with staff from Martumili Artists and Kanyirninpa Jukurrpa.
The event was an undeniable success with Fremantle Art Centre recording their highest visitor numbers in history over the 3 days the opening events ran.
